Palava is a Moravian wine grape variety named after the PLA Palava. It was created by crossing the Tramín red and Müller Thurgau varieties. The variety was bred by Ing. Josef Veverka, who started her breeding in 1953 at the Breeding Station in Velké Pavlovice and later continued in Perná. It was entered in the state variety book in 1977.
The variety can be grown in all Czech and Moravian wine-growing sub-regions. The wine is golden yellow in color with a very spicy aroma, with a subtle aroma of tramine. The taste is dense, oily to tramine.
Palava from the U Venuše vineyard is in the Terroir range.
